    Ok, this is a case of crossed up memory on keyboards I use. I apologise for my mistake. Fn F1 shuts off the touchpad. How do I mark this solved by operator error ?

    Yes, on the Starling 10" (Star5) its F1 ESC and even with the live thumb drive I cant shut off the touchpad. Same thuimb drive I used to install 12.04

    Yes F1 has the touchpad icon on it. Im pretty sure it was F1 and ESC that I used to hit that shut off the touchpad.

    But I have no idea how to reinstall drivers.

    Whats with the sudo apt-get...

    I think it was F1 ESC that I used to hit to shut off the mouse pad. Now thats not doing it.

    Im using Ubuntu 12.04lts and a system76 Starling 10"

    If I dont shut off the mouse pad on the laptop...

    That did the trick. alt+super right click and I was able to delete the bottom panel. And add weather to the top panel.

    One problem is I selected Windows List and want to remove that from the top...
