If I ping from one machine to another using only the hostname, I get a correct response and the complete name from DNS shows in the results -

I had to change the "merge" option to ignore in ALL of the output files to make it seem to act right (so far OK, hoping it sticks), run alsamixer to set my levels and reboot

hmm .. fixed it, but I'm not sure why it stopped working with the default config.
I had to set the full filepath ( /usr/bin/firefox ) and it started to work again. Go figure.

firefox in and of itself works correctly, the trigger between nautilus and firefox is broken.
All my other apps (gimp, bluefish, etc) launch correctly through nautilus.
It's a pain in the butt...

I had to restart my networking a couple of times for the taps to start working. Funny thing, the pcnet fast III works correctly in my opensolaris install but the intel doesn't .. vica versa for my XP...
