    ctrl + alt + F4

    when that happens login.

    then stop GDM.


    sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop

    try this


    gksudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf

    go to the very bottom and blacklist the drivers within the tutorial.
