I love it. :D I had the same problem in 5.04. Those were the days. I even remember my first punch card experience.

What is so sad about this article is that it does have some untruths and there is no way to correct the author's mistakes. No comments section. Modern LInux distros such as Ubuntu are very user...
It's a good thing I saw that smiley face at the end. Ubuntu phones and tablets will be available in stores, and I see no reason for them not to succeed. As far as security goes, your guess is as good...
I would say that tablet sales are hurting desktop sales but not operating systems. Even tablets and smart phones have operating systems. For the work I do I could not use a tablet or smart phone. So...
Most people that run Windows do not update, most don't even know what a firewall is, They know nothing about the inner works of their computer and most use Windows because it came on their computer....
On the point of the viruses, that's not exactly correct. Most people say that Linux don't have viruses because there is no profit in it. There is not enough of Linux around. That is totally untrue....
I like the new wallpaper. The folds seem to give it some depth. A lot better then the wishy-washy defaults they've had the last few years. At least its not all blue or white.
If you mixed the cards up, you had to start all over. My first class in collage with punch cards was called "Data Processing". My goodness...that was a long time ago.
That's no way to be. You're not stupid and you did the proper thing by asking in the forums. Furthermore you provided a solution to help others who could have the same issues. Nice job.

I've always liked Unity. You can open up or find anything with one or two clicks. It's very easy to learn and that is the main thing people have problems with. They don't take the time to learn...
As of right now it's quite a bit faster. Hopefully that will still hold true when the release is final. My first Ubuntu experience was with 5.04. That seems such a long time ago. :D
Well I have several laptops. Ubuntu 13.04 runs just fine on my Lenovo T61, and also on my HP G60-125nr. The only problems I have with my HP, which I also dual boot with Windows 7 that I use for my...
I know this has been a while but this statement is not quite correct in my opinion. Many a settings can be changed in Ubuntu and Unity so let's not say it's locked down. Unity is the only DM I use...
Good Day, I've used several different Gigabyte motherboards and haven't had any problems with audio. Sometimes I do have to reconfigure Alsa but that's about it. I've tried to look up the number of...
I installed gnome-shell as a session and that's how I play around with Gnome 3. I still prefer Unity but it's nice to play around with.
Later when it's less expensive. Now it's not needed in my opinion.
I've never been able to get a 64 bit distro running properly in VB. As far as a 64 bit distro goes. If I had a 64 bit system, which I do, then I would use a 64 bit distro. 64 bit is not doggy.
I look at it more as BSD than Linux. It's really irrelevant tho. Since they have their own hardware made for them they can develop their own drivers without problems.
I think that they should take it easy and maybe think about rolling their own. After all that's what Mint is doing even tho they are forking, it's still going to be their own little Nemo.
I loved Decent more than Decent 2. I do miss them. I guess I need to take a look at d1x-rebirth and d2x-rebirth.
Thanks.
The old Starcraft works just fine. :)
The most that they'll be able to do is turn it off for you. Everyone is making more of a problem with this than what is really is. Canonical and Redhat have already figured out there will be no...
I don't really switch between desktops anymore. I tried Cinnamon and it was okay but not impressive. Mate is just a Gnome2 wannabe and using Gnome2 would be like beating a dead horse. Gnome3 is good...
I have a facebook page but never use it. A lot of my family and friends are on there a lot. I have no desire to tell someone what I'm doing every second. I also put Twitter in the same vein as...
They are nice but I'm mostly out of the cutesy phase now, but I still use them sometimes. I don't use any when I'm serious.
