I got this after fiddling with HDMI audio support. The solution was to revert the changes I'd made, specifically in /etc/pulse/default.pa, and the restarting pulseaudio

[ubuntu] Re: Streaming audio from Second Life

Well it still works for me, but you do have to remember to re-apply the changes if you update the client since it overwrites the secondlife file.

[ubuntu] Re: 9.10 upgrade - now no automount of CDROM

Just thought I'd mention I sorted out my issue a little while back - I remembered I had been tinkering with the udev rules and created one based on 60-persistent-storage.rules and saved in...
  5. [ubuntu] Re: Problem using 3 screens (onboard VGA and PCIe card)

Thanks for posting, I'll investigate the Compiz issue when I have more time.

I too thought the nVidia config would handle this OK, I even forced it to re-detect from fresh and still got the same...

[ubuntu] Re: 9.10 upgrade - now no automount of CDROM

I would seem to have the same problem after upgrade to karmic (amd64): CD/DVDs and USB drives do not automount, but I can mount them manually. Another upgraded system (x86) does not have this issue....

[ubuntu] Re: Messed up NTFS partition

If the $Bitmap is corrupt then it's probably a bad sector. HDD Regenerator is good for that sort of thing, but it costs money. Still, it brings hard drives back to life, and it would be silly to...
  10. [ubuntu] Re: "Install Package" button disabled in Package installer for TrueCrypt

I can confirm the same behaviour - Ubuntu Jaunty 64 bit. Guess it's a problem with the deb file.

    Hello,

I don't know if you're still having this issue but you probably want to talk to Hans de Goede who is working on a project to address this very problem.
