Well it still works for me, but you do have to remember to re-apply the changes if you update the client since it overwrites the secondlife file.
Here's what I did to get streaming audio working in SecondLife (Ubuntu 10.04 x64):
Assuming you've installed the SL viewer from Linden Labs...
edit the secondlife file in...
Just thought I'd mention I sorted out my issue a little while back - I remembered I had been tinkering with the udev rules and created one based on 60-persistent-storage.rules and saved in...
Thanks for posting, I'll investigate the Compiz issue when I have more time.
I too thought the nVidia config would handle this OK, I even forced it to re-detect from fresh and still got the same...

Regressed to 2.0.0.72. Now have all the options again. Guess I'll have to wait a while for a later version to become available in the repos...
Yep, have the same problem here. Skype 2.1.0.47 on Jaunty 64 bit (2.6.28-15-generic). Only audio device that shows is Pulseaudio (local). I'm already considering a regression to a previous version of...
I don't know if this affects you, but I had a similar problem - I couldn't get any flash enabled sites to work properly - YouTube for example wouldn't indicate an error, but the flash plugin would...
