Truecrypt is in the launcher (I placed it there), but if i click on it is says 'Truecrypt is already running', that's all.

I had the same experience with a Radeon HD5570 - no installation - only a black screen.

I removed the videocard from the pc, and am now using the onboard video (see your bios settings). Works...

I'm using netbeans php also and managed to get it working fast and stable. It is a matter of settings.

Please try:
- uninstall java openjdk [use synaptic]
- enable archive.canonical in synaptic...
