No, it just blinks continuously regardless of usage. I've seen some a bug report about this in launchpad with some other laptops so now I think it's a known issue...

I've just (succesfully) installed the lucid beta on my new 1810tz. Early days, but everything seems fine, except the wireless light on the front continually blinks on and off (~3 times per second)...
