Yeah I guess I really never thought of that, that channel 6 was pretty cluttered. Thanks, that seemed to do the trick, and add a little zip into the online connection for me.
So one other thing that I can rule out, as it looks as if it's being randomly deauthorized for some reason, I just checked the routers ip address log, and there's nothing there that shouldn't be. So...
Hello,
So after an upgrade my wireless has been extremely slow. So I figured I'd try this http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2209737 which seemed to work great, except that now my wifi...
ok, so 1 problem though, now it seems to randomly drop the wifi connection, if I turn it off and back on it will work fine, until it drops again. If I remove the rtl8192 module, the wifi goes with...

Thanks, I forgot that I needed to also compile the kernel in order for anything else to actually compile. Thank you.

Allright, so I'm having problems. I've followed this thread to the end, I've got a slightly different card- 9462 :0034 . I've been adjusting things as I go for that model, which is supported mostly...
ok, scratch that last comment. I had that card but was having other issues with it ( hardware wise). So if you can connect to another network using your card, and the dongle, but you can't connect...

SO doing a little tooling arround , and I found out that this wifi card will not work on a toshiba laptop, windows or linux, it's just a hardware incompatability. I have no idea why, it's just one...
So one update, I tried to recompile the kernel with "don't allow firmware to be made" unchecked, thinking that might help.
It didn't, and I got the exact same error message.
Yes, I know it's supposed to be there, but alas, c'est mon live'.

So I am having trouble integrating a module into my kernel. The module that I'm looking to install is wistron_btns , I apparently need this module to turn on my wifi switch, as this key...
So just about any time I try to make something from the source file using the make make install install dynamic, it doesn't work. I pretty much will get a message similiar to this.

You will have to go to the site at intel for your modem. Do a little snooping for the linux firmware drivers, and then install the firmware on your computer. Your computer doesn't have the drivers...

Hello everyone,
So I really have no idea why, but my workspace switcher's union rep contacted me, and it's on strike.

One trick that I use, and it seems to work fairly well, is to have your laptop closed, and then connect the external monitor feed. I really don't know why but this seems to work pretty good.
