Seriously, I don't understand how to get my Mobility 7500 working correctly. FGLRX screws everything up and a restart asks me to use a generic driver to get to the desktop.

I've read many guides...

THere are no graphic drivers. Hence, it has a Sis 630/730 . I dont have those drivers anymore for those.

Well, I reloaded a computer and I decided to use it as a spare at my mom's house. Now, I'm having a slight problem. I want to play StarCraft, but it is just too choppy.

Back in my dapper drake days, I was easily able to access battle.net. No problems, no screen issues, nothing. Everything was pretty much flawless.

I ran the game as root, and then tried resolution.. It closed, but I got this error:

Before I go through the hassle of getting ubuntu on again, I would like to know if ubuntu would be better for gaming. With these specs, mainly:

Intel P.4 @ 3 ghz HT technology
