[SOLVED] Re: Change boot order in Grub2

    * That link does not actually explain how to re-order the menu entries, only how to change the default menu entry e.g. go to list item #4 by default. I haven't seen an explanation of how to change...
  2. [ubuntu] Re: Intrepid stalls during startup unless I hold down a key

Me too! Just installed Jaunty on a dual-boot Win7 laptop. My dual-boot Vista laptop does not have this problem, strangely enough.
  3. [ubuntu] Re: ACPI: expecting a [Reference] package element, found type 0

Ditto here. Running 9.04 with an Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard.

This problem seems like it's very common, amongst different distros and hardware configurations, here's hoping a fix is...

[ubuntu] Re: dmraid doesn't activate at startup

I got mine working again. I tried a bunch of different stuff, including:

    sudo chmod 777...
  7. [all variants] Re: Boot an existing Vista/Windows 7 (Physical HD) install with VirtualBox

Well, I figured this part out:

the command for raid arrays will be:

VBoxManage internalcommands createrawvmdk -filename ~/.VirtualBox/WinHD.vmdk -rawdisk /dev/mapper/<RAID NAME> -partitions...
  8. [all variants] Re: Boot an existing Vista/Windows 7 (Physical HD) install with VirtualBox

Has anyone tried this for a setup where both my Vista and Ubuntu install are on a software raid 0 array?

How would I modify the command:
    VBoxManage internalcommands createrawvmdk -filename...

[ubuntu] Re: Dual boot with Vista

After two days and at least five delete-partition-and-reinstall attempts, I finally have a working dual-boot. Here's where I ran into problems, and how I solved them:

[ubuntu] Re: Dual boot with Vista

I have a Vista 64-bit install on a software RAID-0 array, like you. I've shrunk the partition using the Vista utility, and I'd like to install 9.04 AMDx64 on the free space as a dual-boot setup.
