Edit: don't bother, I've given up on this keyboard, it just does not work.
Run "sudo nvidia-xconfig".
its complaining about apparmor not being installed... what happens when you try?
Are you using a graphics/video card? If so, what kind?
Suspend doesn't work for me in 9.04. Whenever I click "suspend" it has the same effect as shutdown.
Hehe.. yeah, I was going about it the right way. I was using /server rather than /connect though- am trying that now. Wish me luck. Thanks for your help! Maybe someone who knows will come along,...
I use same version. And no matter what server I use, this happens. :(
That mozilla server almost worked... it connected, but when I did a /wi, i wasn't using ssl. it did go through port 6697...
Here's what happens when I try:
-!- Irssi: Looking up irc.irchighway.net
-!- Irssi: Connecting to irc.irchighway.net [66.111.35.104] port 9999
About 8 minutes later:
-!- Irssi:...
Try this one: irc.irchighway.net port 9999 for SSL. Let me know what happens. :)
Just wanted to add that I do have openssl... just realized I didn't mention that before.

Identifier "Monitor0"
VendorName "Unknown"
ModelName "DELL...
Please provide the make and model of your GPU and the name of the drivers you were trying to install. :)
There's your problem. ATI and built in... linux doesn't like that... I recommend you get yourself an after market Nvidia.
I cannot connect to any irc channel via ssl. I get no error message, just nothing ever happens. I thought maybe it was my firewall, but i have those ports allowed now, still not working.
I'm using...
Built in cards generally don't have enough power ot run games like that.
Nvidia is the one that makes the drivers for their cards. ATI doesn't release hardware specs to open-source linux, leaving...
Well, yes, you can get rid of the old drivers... but those ATI cards don't mix well with linux. The driver support is rather dodgy, I've been there so I know. if you still want to remove the Nvidia...
Okay... need some help here...
I was trying to install a new DVD writer. I reset my BIOS during the process so I could start the config fresh. However, upon trying to boot, I could not get a BIOS...
Nevermind, solved...
Okay, an update. I've almost got it installed... apparently installing a KDE tarball is much different than installing a Gmone one. I still need help though. Here's the process:
tar -xjf...
So, I download the .tar.bz2 file... only to find that ./configure, make, make install or any other of the standard tarball commands needed for installation do not work... There aren't any...
Based on experience with ATI, cards, I'd say that the best choice is... None of the above.
I crashed my graphics like 12 times trying to find a proper driver that did what I wanted. In the end, I...
