AMD A8-3870k (3.0GHz Quad core) with OCZ Agility 3 60GB SSD. Its running Ubuntu 12.04 booting directly into XBMC.
Might be a bit quicker if I ever get around to removing all...

[ubuntu] Re: Quality in ubuntu Survey

I think Ubuntu has come along well, but its some of the components that aren't up to scratch.

Nautilus is a good file manager, but their new interface really doesn't suit Unity.

    The new update...
  5. [ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu entry appeared in UEFI BIOS Boot menu?

Yes I did install in UEFI mode, but then I also installed XBMCbuntu (11.10 based) and 12.04 with UEFI mode aswell, but Im sure I didn't notice ubuntu appear in the menu before.

    Thinking about it...
  6. [ubuntu] Ubuntu entry appeared in UEFI BIOS Boot menu?

I just did a real quick test with a Virtualbox guest of Ubuntu 12.04 that had UFW installed.
Interestingly the Quantal Kernel didn't cause any issues with the Firewall starting up.

    Perhaps it was...

[ubuntu] Re: Quantal Alpha One Experiments

Well it just puzzled me were CDs were being mounted since the VBoxGuest additions wouldn't auto run.

Turns out it was mounted in /run/media/myusername/VBox... instead of being under /media

    Now...

[all variants] Re: Call for testing 12.10 kernel on 12.04

I've already been using using Kernel 3.4 in 12.04 as my system was pretty much unusable with Kernel 3.2. I regularly suffered application crashes and the framerate from my nVidia GTX560TI was...
  11. Re: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS versus LMDE (Linux Mint Debian) 201204?

When I looked at LMDE a few months ago I found that it was quite a way behind on the updates, infact I would go as far to say it represented quite large security risk.

    Sure the more advanced user...

Re: Firefox: “Well, This Is Embarrassing”

    Yes I've been getting that.

I thought it could have been to do with me being lazy and copying over my .mozilla folder over from 11.04 instead of using Firefox Sync to add another computer.

Poll: Re: Time to drop Gwibber ?

Gwibber is such a resource hog on bootup time, by removing it I get a 5 second (or 25%) improvement on bootup speed. Its crazy how one program can delay bootup by that much.

    Its time to see it...
