you can just use adept manager instead of KpackagetKit to install the blocked updates. Depending on your kubuntu setup you may need to install it first.
click on the scan button then restart konqueror an try the website again, I'm attaching a pic of my list(i did not have problems with the car website)
the work around for blocked updates is using adept-manager instead of kpackagekit. Using Adept will install all updates.
go to the konqueror settings>plugins>plug in tab>scan for plugins, there should be something listed there like Netscape plugins
if you have ubuntu 9.04 the drivers for the broadcom driver is included by default, did you look under hardware drivers to "activate" the BCM driver?

it's possible, not recommended, go to the log-in manager in the gnome control panel, look for a convenience tab or auto-log in tab then of course select "auto log in:"

you need to burn the ISO to a cdr then run the live cd to install

in kubuntu you usually just click the connect automatically box in the network manager
is it windows vista or XP?
if its vista you may want to scan the disk for errors, viruses and defrag first. for XP you better off using a third party disk manager
Also the windows user need to have...
1. go to applications.system>hardware drivers and see if your card drivers are listed to "activate"
2. kubuntu network manager widget need to be added, see attached pic.

like the other posters suggested, use the web base setup utility, most cable modems don't care about the OS unless you using static IP's and DSL
