    [ubuntu] BiOF Screensaver

Anyone know where to find a Windows port of the BiOF screensaver? I have it in Ubuntu and would like it on my work laptop (Windows XP)

    Thanks...

No, listen, don't worry. I'm just used to 'GUI's' - scared of the command line because I don't understand it. I'm happy to leave the techy stuff to you guys, because I know someone will put all this...

  5. Re: btnx: Send keyboard and mouse combination events with mouse buttons

Thanks for trying, but no - not really. I can't make it work. I'll back off and wait for someone to invent another btnx.
  6. Re: btnx: Send keyboard and mouse combination events with mouse buttons

I'm sorry, that means nothing to me. I don't understand how to use it to start with. Maybe I should wait until there's a nice friendly GUI for me to use.
  7. Re: btnx: Send keyboard and mouse combination events with mouse buttons

Sorry, I'm obviously thick or not experienced enough with Linux to understand how this works. Could someone coach me please? I managed to get to the last of Tom's commands and then nothing happens in...

    [kubuntu] Trying Kubuntu

Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place. I'd like to give Kubuntu a try (currently running Ubuntu 8.10) - is that easy to do? Sorry for the naivity, I'm still relatively new to Linux.

    Thanks

    Re: Devaluing Ubuntu

No. Not quite. Look here at the developers comments. BTNX development has stopped due to fundamental changes in Intrepid. This is well documented with many posts from frustrated users on this forum.

    Devaluing Ubuntu

Simple enough question for Ubuntu developers - You are clearly trying to turn Ubuntu into a more 'commercial' operating system, and yet you are removing / disabling functionality such as BTNX and...
  12. Re: btnx: Send keyboard and mouse combination events with mouse buttons

Mine too. Out of interest, the guy who developed btnx says on his website that he would be willing to develop something new for 8.10. He doesn't have the time to do it on his own though and is...

Finding the same - time for a cup of coffee while FF decides to open...very frustrating. I was hoping on Swiftweasel, but it seems there's no build yet.

    [ubuntu] Cannot read Help File

    Hi,

I use DeVeDe on Intrepid. When I try to access the Help pages I get the error in the screenshot attached here. Any ideas? The pages are all there.

    Thanks

This is driving me nuts! I used GScrot in Hardy with no problem, but it absolutely refuses to start automatically in Intrepid. I have it added as a startup program with the ‐‐min_at_startup switch,...
