    [ubuntu] Re: Freeze in Jaunty

All of you problems with ctrl+alt+sysrq. It doesn't work for me either. Try ctrl+ALTGR+sysrq instead, that should do the trick. Wish we wouldn't have to use it though...

[other] Re: Complicated problem - hw of sw issue

Re-installed XP and then RMClock, some minutes after that, a shutdown. Now, it's on for some time, I enabled the RMClock power management scheme, and pray that it needed a reboot to work properly......

[other] Re: Complicated problem - hw of sw issue

Well, I installed this utility. Do I have to set something up in it, it works by default? As it's options are quite ample, and I don't want to screw my pc up by playing with the voltage settings.

    [ubuntu] Re: Hardware ID

Thanks, I'll try Windows PE, as soon as I can get my hands on an XP machine. Unfortunately, I have only one HDD in my notebook.

[other] Re: Complicated problem - hw of sw issue

Thanks for the reply, Ahbart! As soon as I can access my Windows, I'll try the RMClock. Power management issue also crossed my mind to a point that I thought, ACPI might be the problem (have seen...

    [ubuntu] Hardware ID

    Hello!

My question is simple: how can one see the Hardware ID in Ubuntu?
    In Windows, it's in Device Manager->(right click)Properties->Details tab->Hardware ID, a long code

    I've tried Device...

    [ubuntu] Re: Freeze in Jaunty

Freeze again, this time a bit different. Had gkrellm on, so hope this helps.
    - Both cores 0% (what suprised me, as usually one of both go at 100% during a freeze)
    - CPU tmep 47C
    - Running...

    [ubuntu] Re: Freeze in Jaunty

    Maybe this will help.

As I've said, I've done a clean install to ext3, and didn't have a freeze for a day. Didn't update anything. Finally, today I installed the "closed" FGLRX ATI driver for my...

    [ubuntu] Re: Freeze in Jaunty

Well, I did a clean install of Jaunty onto ext3 filesystem, just to give it a try. I did not update it with anything (only java), neither the system, nor firefox, nor ATI drivers. It's on for 16h...

[other] Complicated problem - hw of sw issue

    Hi to all!

My problem is really complicated, and only partly Ubuntu-related, however you guys have been really helpful here, so I hoped someone might have a clue.

    First, my specs: ASUS X53SR...

    [ubuntu] Re: Freeze in Jaunty

Same problem for me, however, with a twist. 9.04 worked like a charm since Sunday until today morning, when it froze during system update. Ever since I can't use it for more that 10-20 minutes at a...

[ubuntu] Re: 9.04 Still over heats.

I second that, it's NOT a hardware issue. I have an ASUS laptop, just returned from the manufacturer, cleaned. I have an XP and a Ubuntu 9.04. The Ubuntu worked like a charm newly installed, but...
