Certainly worth trying. To be fair to the Ubuntu distro, there's much more than Gnome to differentiate it from Fedora (which I used until the mid 2000s); Debian as an upstream with it's solid...
Looks like that's solved in the gnome-stagging ppa. Updated and works for me now. That's a dramatically different UI, better but very different.
Just booted up 17.10 this morning and applied any updates, now I can't arrange my monitors properly in Gnome on Wayland nor Gnome on Xorg. Is that just me or is it broken for anyone else?

Similar problem here. Dreadful audio quality. Turning off hardware acceleration isn't a solution for this - it's for the strange colour issues that some users have reported.
I tried what mohammadul suggested and it Works!
1) Open Terminal.
2) Type gstreamer-properties.
3) Multimedia Systems Selector opens up.
4) Go to Video Tab.
5) X-window System (No xv).
