Just updated a 17.05 Gnome Edition to 17.10, upgrade went very smoothly but I'm getting serious input lag on keystrokes in console apps like Terminal, Terminator and Tillix when running Gnome under...

Re: Unity 7 without Gnome shell in 17.10

Certainly worth trying. To be fair to the Ubuntu distro, there's much more than Gnome to differentiate it from Fedora (which I used until the mid 2000s); Debian as an upstream with it's solid...
  3. [SOLVED] Re: Multiple monitor arrangement not working

Looks like that's solved in the gnome-stagging ppa. Updated and works for me now. That's a dramatically different UI, better but very different.

This thread is marked as [Solved] but I can't see any explicit mention of what fixed the original problem ...
  8. Re: Typing extremely laggy in VirtualBox full screen, but normal in window

Sorry that this doesn't actually help you but I'm running 12.04 within VB on my Windows 7 64Bit Home Edition and it runs just fine in full screen mode (1920x1080). I'm using an Alienware X51.

    At...

[SOLVED] Re: Flash crashed :( bad sound quality

Similar problem here. Dreadful audio quality. Turning off hardware acceleration isn't a solution for this - it's for the strange colour issues that some users have reported.
