    That was the problem. I installed ZumoDrive and it had checked the autostart option, i disabled it and now my icons are ok. Thank you very much.

    Thanks for your help, here is the screenshot. While I was taking it I saved the printed file in my Desktop folder and then the icon of that new file appeared on the blank space.

    [gnome] desktop's top left icon problem

    I have noticed that the initial ordering of icons of my desktop is leaving a blank space on the top left corner. Recently I have changed my language but I am not sure when this began to happen.
