It's been a while since I saw this thread. I thought it had been long forgotten.
Google bought the code for FreeNX so they have changed it quite a bit. That was sometime last year or the year...
Not much I can add at this point but the thread should be Ultimate Edition NOT Ultimate Ubuntu since it is about UE.
Ultimate Edition has their own repos for software that is not available in the...
No solution. I am running Ultimate Edition 2.7 and haven't played with 10.10 much other than some beta testing of Ultimate Edition 2.8. I think I'll be sticking with 2.7 for now since it works great....
Thanks for the guide Penguin Guy, it worked fine on Ultimate Edition 2.7 x64 which is based on Ubuntu 10.04 x64.
I downloaded the k10temp.c directly from here...
What I did for the delay was created a new document in my home folder called Start-Conky and put this in it
#!/bin/bash
sleep 30
conky &
exit 0
Made it executable, right click...
The ca is most likely the Canadian version, and by looking at your info. I would say that's the case. My Fn+F7 dims the display and Fn+F8 brightens it. I don't know if regular ubuntu has it or not...
I don't do wubi's but right click on the top panel and select Add to panel. Select CPU Frequency Monitor, click Add then Close.
Left click on the new applet in the top panel and set it to Powersave....
No problem you wanted to know how to do it and that's what I do. I like this gif and I don't know how you could top it.
You mean doing this part?
It will just repair the MBR so xp will boot and...

Here's both ways. Removing UE will leave it unbootable so read it all before you begin, you'll need your xp disc.
Boot the 2.7 livedvd and go to
System > Administration > GParted...
It was covered in the guide after installing freenx and setting up the keys it went on to making it more secure by disabling password authentication.
So many things to do and so little time....
Once you copy the keys one to the server and the other to the client you have to edit the sshd file on the server and set Password Authentication to No so it will use the keys without asking for a...
You're welcome. I plan on building a pc in a few weeks so once I get all the parts and everything else setup the way I want it I'll be doing it again then too, and when I do it I'll update the guide...
The couple times I tried using the hostname it didn't work either but it works using the dyndns url and the IP Address. Might check to make sure the host name is right.
cat /etc/hosts
I haven't...
Only thing that comes to mind is make sure you opened the port on the server otherwise it would just drop the connection attempt silently. It's not like pinging (different port).
Timing out would...
Yes. It's a little confusing the way they named it, but the i386 will work on either a 32 bit CPU or a 64 bit one, but the x64 will only work with a 64 bit CPU.
It doesn't matter who makes the CPU...
It's easy and they even have a step by step screenshot guide you can follow so you should have no problems. I used to use dd but since I tried it I think I'll be using it instead for any future...
You mean after applying the fix it did that. I don't know why it would do that but boot up into recovery mode since that's how you can get in and either go to Synaptic and search for compiz-core...
The cursor issue is know and as far as I know is still not being worked on by ubuntu since they consider it cosmetic and of low importance.
TheeMahn, known here as TheeMahn2003, has been kind...
Hi sprungfeld and welcome to the forum.
In firefox have you tried going to

Maybe this will help. He takes forever to get around to actually doing the install but it seems to work easily enough.

Run this to see what versions are installed

Welcome to the forum elliteforce,
For broadband with DHCP by the router without using network manager it's pretty easy. I'm guessing this is what you want since your post is a little confusing.

This has always worked for me.
I would just open gparted and delete the partition then create a new one. I've only had a few that went read only but that has always fixed them.
