I might have solved my own problem (though I still don't have the minimize-on-click working).
I commented out the third line in the file that had the error in it so it now reads
# deb...
Okay, I seem to have really screwed something up. I decided to use ppa-purge to remove the minimize-on-click patch per the instructions at...
I tried moving the .config/libreoffice folder, but that didn't seem to solve anything.
I finally fixed it by removing ALL of the LibreOffice programs in Ubuntu Software Center, restarting the...
A few months ago I added the minimize-to-click patch to my Ubuntu 12.04 following the instructions at http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2012/03/how-to-minimize-apps-to-the-unity-launcher-in-ubuntu-12-04.

Okay, I tried that command in a terminal and got the following
jana@laptop:~$ sudo rgrep -e Libre /var/log
[sudo] password for jana:
/var/log/auth.log:Aug 21 06:45:46 laptop sudo: jana :...
I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling LibreOffice Calc and that didn't seem to work. Maybe I need to shut the computer down before I reinstall or maybe I need to uninstall the whole...
I checked with my computer and got essentially the same output as you
jonpeterson@laptop:~$ ls -l /usr/bin/libreoffice
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 34 Aug 7 20:44 /usr/bin/libreoffice ->...
I've been having trouble with LibreOffice starting. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04, and I have two different user accounts on my computer. LibreOffice used to work fine, but for the past few days I can...
Update: I still haven't had any problems after I did my update as NikTh suggested. I did upgrade to 12.04 from a previous version of Ubuntu so maybe that's why that package was there in the first...
I did an update from the terminal like NikTh suggested. So far I haven't noticed any problems. I opened up LibreOffice and the spell checker seems to still work. I'll post if I find any issues later.
I can get the following information on the language-support-en package from Synaptic Package Manager
Not exactly sure what to make of this information, but it seems that at worst my spell...
I'm running Ubuntu 12.04

Not sure if this will help or not, but I noticed that when I open up update manager there are two updates that are not checked. Maybe this is the reason why it says it will be a "partial upgrade."...
I ran that command and got the following output
Fetched 2,767 B in 21s (129 B/s)

Today when update manager started up it gave me a message that for some reason only a partial upgrade would be completed. I'm not sure why that is, but I proceeded to continue. However, when it gave...
Your suggestion to change the file permissions for the .config/nautilus-actions folder seems to have worked. I didn't get the error message today when the backup took place. Also, to avoid getting...
I use Deja Dup for backups of my home directory. I have it set to automatically backup every day, and every day I get an error message saying that two of the files failed to back up. The message says...
Okay, I finally got it fixed. I tried using the
unity --reset code. That didn't seem to work since alacarte still wouldn't do anything when I tried to add a new item or modify the properties of a...
Ok, part of the problem was that I couldn't figure out where to find the Main Menu in 12.04. I had actually used the main menu in 11.04 to create a launcher for Ipe so it already showed up. I think...
I tried that and it didn't find anything. I think that either there is no *.desktop file for Ipe or that it is named something less obvious than ipe.desktop.
I use the program Ipe to create drawings for my LaTeX documents. The only annoying problem I'm having is that when I run Ipe, the icon in the launcher is just the generic gray question mark. There is...
I did notice that after I updated the computer to Ubuntu 12.04 when I opened the file in Kile a message popped up that said there were "too long lines" and that because of that the file was opened in...
Update:
I updated one of my computers from 11.04 to 11.10 and then 12.04 and that computer still is able to modify the problem .tex file in Kile. So it doesn't seem to be an issue with running a...
I'm having trouble editing one of my .tex files in Kile. I have the .tex file in a dropbox folder that I share with a collaborator. I have 3 different computers that I myself use (all run Ubuntu). On...
