I had already installed the backports-module--it certainly helps. I just installed WICD. Excellent program; however, it doesn't seem to improve the signal (which I assume is a driver issue anyway).

I tried but could not get ndiswrapper to work. Is anyone using the Windows drivers on Ubuntu?
