OK. You people sold me on getting ridding of my Snap packages and the Snap manager altogether. I have a few questions about it so I'll make another thread. Thanks!
I caved and ran "remove --purge" on the Firefox Snap and installed the Firefox Flatpak. Seems to run just as well as it used to before all the issues I mentioned in the OP. You mean to tell me I...
I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing. The General Help section wouldn't open for me and I had to go to my profile and click on the link for this thread directly.
Anyway...damn. Looks like it's...
Is it newer or older than the version I have?
I don't know how that made CPU Usage worse but now that same process is using 450% at times. Doesn't make any sense. The video never skips, stops or buffers as long as I only run one tab. It's the...
I'll have to run it for longer to get more information but the only odd thing showing so far is the CPU Usage for Data Decoder shoots up to 130% or more sporadically. Not sure if that tells you...

I have an Xbox 360 wired controller connected to my computer. I assume it's using the default driver (whatever that is) due to the light on the controller being on the first player's position. The...
I spoke too soon. After a couple of restarts / shut downs the problem is still occurring. Is there nothing that can be done?! I'm getting very frustrated now. I apologize for the BUMP but I didn't...
I guess I didn't need the help of Ubuntu Forums after all! I went on the IRC channel #mate on the irc.freenode.org server and got my answer there! The solution was to add:
...to the ~/.xinitrc...
Umm...please?!
EDIT:
OK...here's proof I'm not insane. Check the date and time on both screenshots. Literally, all I've done since the original screenshot is watch YouTube videos, change my...
I installed a Ubuntu 12.10 command line setup through a minimalist netboot "mini.iso". Everything is configured the way I want it but one aspect of MATE is acting very strangely. I'm missing my...
Well, I fixed that on my own too...Apparently you have to make a user within GADMIN-ProFTPd before anything would work. Who'd of thunk it! Haha. I still don't know if everything is working to the...
I seem to have fixed the issue by hitting the Apply button within the Certificate section itself instead of the overlying Apply button. The Activate button now activates my FTP server. Unfortunately,...
I have recently installed ProFTPd and GADMIN-ProFTPd GUI using the following command:
sudo apt-get install proftpd gadmin-proftpd
I then found this website:

Sorry about the delay. I got frustrated so I shut down the laptop and went to the range. Oddly enough when I got back and powered it back on it auto-connected to my wireless network! The button goes...
My issue is that EVERY TIME I boot the laptop I have to hit the physical button and run:
rfkill unblock wifi
...to get on my wireless network. It works fine after that but this laptop has to...
The commands are as follows:
sudo dpkg -r --force-depends ??? (package name)
...for every package I saw when I ran "autoremove". Then this command:
sudo dpkg --purge ??? (package name)
Abandoned by OP. NOT SOLVED! Good luck to those who come across this in search of an answer for a similar situation.
Long story short? Stay away from Thunar at all costs.
Yeah, that's not going to happen. What I did is type in:
sudo apt-get autoremove
...and look at all the broken dependencies and files and force remove them all and purge their configurations...
I switched from Xubuntu to Ubuntu (11.04 on both) due to problems with Thunar being the worst file manager in any *buntu variant I have ever come across. To replace it I went to this link:

Bump!!!
BUMP! It's been 4 days. I really need help still if someone is able. Thank you!
Also, here are the additional programs that would be removed along with Thunar:
USER@COMPUTER:~$ sudo apt-get remove thunar
[sudo] password for USER:
Reading package lists... Done
Building...
I'm aware. I wasn't being completely serious. I was just looking for a reason to bump the thread hoping for someone who could help me. This is VERY frustrating. I hate Thunar...
