Boot into recovery console mode and type the next command:
apt-get remove fglrx*
That should remove all the fglrx things on your computer and when you reboot you should get your X session back....
The theme needs the smooth engine only for particular parts so yes it displays the modified parts which don't need the smooth engine but fails to do so with the parts where the smooth engine is...

I have the same problem. I want to use some of the nice smooth themes.
Any help would be very welcome.
I've tried it with a friend and it doesn't work. I sent him a message if he can msg me when I'm offline and nothing happened when I signed back in. Then I booted into Windows and signed in with WLM...
Well, I've just compiled and installed Pidgin 2.5.0 from source and guess what - offline messaging doesn't work. Do I have to switch anything on to make it work. I've gone through the plugins and...
Great to hear ... when will it be available through the Ubuntu repositories?
I know this is quite an old thread but here goes.
I was just searching for the offline messaging feature support for Pidgin and I found this thread.

Yes it's a good thing if you only want to be able to send mail locally. But what's the point in having a mail server then if your colleges can't send mail to you from gmail, yahoo, hotmail and other...
As I said, I logged in to my Gmail account and tried to send mail to my SOMEONE@fejker.net address and I got that message.
That is not the case here because I previously had a mail server set up on a Windows server and all was working fine. And port 25 is not blocked according to a port scan. And my reverse DNS is set up.
OK, I got so far that I can send/receive mail localy and I can send mail to other domains (gmail for example). BUT I can not receive mail from any other domain. The message I get when trying to send...
Thanks, I'll try them one by one during the next week.
OK, no love with Zimbra. Trying to compile it from source gets interrupted with a message that one of the packets is missing ... I try to install the Ubuntu similar package but it still quits with an...
I did that but still nothing. I think my configuration is screwed up from trying so many tutorials. :(
Is there any way to wipe it clean and start from scratch?
cviniciusm: That was the first thing I did.
windependence: wget-ing the zimbra tgz for Ubuntu 6.06 right now (hope it installs OK since I'm using 8.04). They don't have any tutorials for compiling...

I've searched the forum, found a couple of tutorials on how to build a mail server but none of them work for me. I might be doing something wrong so I want to find out what.

I've been fighting with my mail server on Ubuntu 8.04 too. I've followed a bunch of tutorials but had no success.
The farthest I came was that mail sent to the @fejker.net addresses (my mail server...
I've got a problem with my Samba shares. I was playing around with Webmin and screwed up my Samba config.
It used to work just fine but I wanted to add write support to some shares and I messed up....
OK, I finally got over the dependency issue (sorted it out with clearing all the cache from apt-get, then ran aptitude and updated + installed some of the packages manually).
Now I configured and...
AWN kept crashing, the launcher for Evolution with the kdocker command ceased to work every time I tried to reopen it. Kiba-dock is far from perfect and also crashes from time to time, but I still...
I didn't like AWN that much, that's why I tried installing Gnome Dock and Kiba-Dock.
I like Kiba-Dock so far, but want to try Gnome dock, because it looks clean.
