I was ready to delete my windows partition and didn't think of the MBR before I did. Now I cannot boot (accept to live disk).

I tried reinstalling grub but I cannot mount my root partition sda4...

I've got the same thing. I am going to try chrome or another browser instead. Bums me out though, firefox is my fav

I installed ubuntu 11.04 and after install no grub menu shows up. It just boots to Vista. I cannot get into ubuntu at all.

ok, it is hanging again.

it only hangs when it is turned on and used a while.

It hangs at turn off. It gets to the point when it says it is unmounting and then powering off and it just hangs...

In the last month or so (don't recall exactly) Ubuntu 10.04 has gone from shutting down very quickly to taking up to 5-10min.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated. The only changes I have made...

Well that is good to hear. At least I know that ubuntu is not really a viable option without headaches on my mac. It is on my PC anyway so that solves that.
