I have noticed that in my case the lockups mostly (perhaps only) occur when resizing windows in a multimonitor configuration. Maximizing and restoring work fine, but when I try and manually resize a...
It might not be the solution you are looking for but you might try adding the kvm and libvirtd groups to a normal user and using that user to connect. I tend to dislike solutions that involve...
I realize this is a bit old but for posterity sake....
The problem, and reason you are needing to restart shorewall, is that you are using detect on virbr0 but virbr0 is not up when shorewall...
It has not been logged as a bug yet as far as I can see. Since this bug directly effects kvm I am guessing it effects cloud install as well. I expect that it will get noticed fairly quickly if that...
The pci_add_option_rom: failed to find romfile "pxe-rtl8139.bin" is a red herring. Adding the kvm-pxe package gets rid of that message but the VMs still do not start. I am not sure what is causing...
This is happening to me as well. I have not tried to debug it much, came here to see if anyone else has the same problem. A quick search implies that is is a problem with libvirt.
1) it means your host name is not recognized by the client. This really is not a ssh issue. If you can ping the hostname ssh will work too. (you could add it to /etc/hosts if it is an internal...
I have Kubuntu Lucid on my X200 Tablet with no difficulties that I can remember and Karmic before that (and a string of other Thinkpads over the last 6-7 years). Generally the Thinkpad line works...
A google for the maximum resolution of your card shows it to be 3840 x 2400. Am I missing something?
Additionally, I went to newegg and checked the maximum resolution on both Nvidia Quadro FX...
Works as advertised in Kubuntu Lucid.

This ppa has the, unfortunately named, "I hate the Cashew" widget (the one referred to above). It removes the cashew, does not hide it. KDE, for...
I have been having this problem as well. I am beginning to suspect it is a event dependency problem with upstart and kdm.
1) gdm works fine
2) with kdm I get the "starting in low resolution"...
The answer to some extent will depend on how technical you are. IMHO the best remote admin tool is ssh. It is (obviously) command line but it is the best tool for the job. With "ssh -X" you can...
What is your X11 config on the headless machine and what (X11) packages do you have installed?
I have done it on two systems with Karmic and managed to get everything stable. I would recommend a fresh install of Kubuntu however if you primarily want to use KDE.
Have you tried xrandr from the command line? You are using Intel graphics.
Sorry I do not have any ideas. Can you post your xorg.conf? Maybe that might shed some light on the problem.
Disk utilities may be giving false positives but doing a read only check of a single partition of a disk is not the way to validate it. This is actually horrifically misleading. It is like pulling...
"man amixer" tells me
so
amixer set Master unmute
can you be more specific on "3. I tried installing DMRAID but Ubuntu told me files were locked...."?
resize2fs /home to be small enough to fit on just sdb
then "sudo lvresize -L -200M /dev/volg01/home" replacing 200M with the appropriate size to shrink the logical volume. Be very careful not to...
Try this:

not a permanent solution for you, but try this
EDIT: misread your results no need to reboot.
xrandr --output VGA1 --right-of LVDS1 --mode 1024x768
from the output of xrandr it looks like...
