  1. [SOLVED] Re: Camera (gnome-snapshot) "No Camera Found"

    Yay!

I still have something like a race issue with wireplumber on my computers. https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/pipewire/-/issues/3960
  2. Re: Snap Store --->'About'-->shows wrong descriptions

It is working for me now. Is it still broken for you?
  3. [SOLVED] Re: gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons-ng: Error: destroy() breaks...

Could someone affected by this issue also report it to https://gitlab.com/rastersoft/desktop-icons-ng/-/issues ?
  4. [SOLVED] Re: Camera (gnome-snapshot) "No Camera Found"

We should be getting a new pipewire version soon that improves some issues with webcams, but it still doesn't completely fix my issues.

You may want to report your issues upstream to either...
  5. Re: libreoffice window cannot be focused when maximised

Personally I find that there are some odd bugs when Ubuntu's tiling extension is turned on. You can turn it off in the Settings app > Ubuntu Desktop > Enhanced Tiling has its own off switch.

[point_release] Re: Slow Chrome-Based Page Opening

In the Settings app, is Network > Proxy turned off? Ideally it is off.
  7. Re: Update/upgrade removes hundreds of packages?

Yes, gnome-shell & mutter need to migrate to clear up those mentioned uninstallable packages.
  8. Re: Update/upgrade removes hundreds of packages?

@fthx Could you report those bugs?

Yes, most of the transitions are done now. But there are still a few uninstallable packages.
  9. Re: Update/upgrade removes hundreds of packages?

Yes, Ubuntu 24.04 LTS is in the middle of the largest library transition Ubuntu has ever experienced. There is often temporary uninstallability with large transitions. This time is worse and then...

[SOLVED] Re: gnome flashback broken shortcuts

I expect it will be possible to run certain X sessions for quite a while. At some point, it might not be possible to use GDM and gnome-session to log into those sessions but maybe you could use...
  11. Re: freecad and adwaita full icon set are gone?

Many icons were dropped. The GNOME designers expect app developers to bundle their own icons now.

This isn't new to GNOME 46. Ubuntu just had been using an old version of adwaita-icon-theme before...

[SOLVED] Re: gnome flashback broken shortcuts

Please file a bug. But not many people are maintaining GNOME Flashback now so it could take a while for it to get fixed.

It might be interesting to see if any Ubuntu desktop flavors are also...
  13. Re: freecad and adwaita full icon set are gone?

Yes, but also there aren't nearly as many Adwaita icons as there used to be. Ubuntu 24.04 LTS's adwaita-icon-theme package with every upstream icon is a smaller file than Ubuntu's streamlined package...

[SOLVED] Re: Nautilus drag & drop no longer works

My guess is that it was because gnome-session didn't build yesterday. There is a new build now but it may take an hour to be published.

[SOLVED] Re: Nautilus drag & drop no longer works

    yikes

But that might be unrelated to the PPA?

Did you only update nautilus or how did you avoid getting GNOME Shell 46?

[SOLVED] Re: Nautilus drag & drop no longer works

I uploaded nautilus 46 RC to the Ubuntu Desktop PPA . Do you still have the same issue there?

The PPA also includes GNOME Shell 46. The biggest annoyance is that the Yaru theme has not been...

[ubuntu] Re: New LTS, new FS?

Ubuntu developers have higher priorities right now than making it easier for people to wreck their system with experimental filesystems.

I mean you're basically asking for additional...

    Re: postfix installed during upgrade

It is a bug and will be fixed. Also, it only affects upgrades (including upgrades from an older Ubuntu release or for those already using Noble). New installs of 24.04 LTS are not affected.

    postfix installed during upgrade

Upgrading Ubuntu 24.04 LTS will install postfix (an email server) which asks a debconf question interrupting the upgrade. You can answer the question however then afterwards run

  24. [SOLVED] Re: [24.04] ALL audio devices have disappeared!

Smask, I need more information about your situation. Could you file a bug as requested earlier in the thread?

Did you happen to intentionally remove Snap?
