    Did you also have any luck with --enable-64 ?

    3.2.x built easily with --enable-64, but 3.4.3 links against different libraries (e.g. BLAS and LAPACK), which are by default not 64bit in Ubuntu...

    I did run into the exact same issue (8.10/amd64), the important thing seems to be that libgcrypt (and libgmd?) are installed before ./configure - otherwise some encrypted authentication methods do...
