You have to make sure the LNB setting saves...... Sometimes I had to set it three or four times before it would stick.

Have you checked your device in alsamixer....... make sure it is not muted, ubuntu uses pulse audio but myth uses alsa. I'm no expert but I hope this helps!

Maybe mount your external drive under /var/ lib/myhttv/videos/<somethinghere> or include the path /media/IomegaHDD/videos in storage groups! but I'm a noob as well, but I think that's how storage...

Try to right click with the mouse. Should give an option to remove or customise.....
you could have a look at the log files /var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log and /../../.../mythfrontend.log
