So the fix seems to be the BIOS up date and not any of the settings.
I haven't had this problem for a long time now. I can't say what the fix was, BIOS update? Kernel fix? Who knows. I plan to keep this open as it seems others are still having this problem. All I can...
I can't see what you are talking about. I see a single vertical line "|" a back/undo button labeled "tool button" a forward/redo button labeled "tool button" another single vertical line "|" and...
I haven't used GNOME in quite a while but I believe each separator is for a different toolbar on the same toolbar line.

Well, I couldn't find anything so I filed one here. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/670578

Sorry, I still haven't found a way to reset the USB system.
What I was talking about is the HPET [High Precision Efficient Timer]option in the power section of the BIOS setup screens.
I am not sure if this was the answer or if it was the updated BIOS or...
I updated the BIOS to ver 1301 and turned the high precision timer ( can't remember the exact name ) off.
The result has been only one lock up sense my last post.
Every USB port on it locks up simultaneously.
If I put a hub on it, that, and everything on it would lock up too.
The kernel module needs fixing for this mobo's crappy firmware.
Has anyone found a solution to the USB problems?
My mouse, keyboard, and printer keep hanging up and I have to reset the computer.
