    [all variants] SPDIF Volume Limit

I am desperate to find a solution to this problem!

I have 2 Ubuntu machines in a home cinema, both are specific to their tasks. One runs XBMC and one runs MPD, they both use a simple ALSA setup to...

Thanks man, I'm using Fluxbox on Arch and had the exact same problem pop up after tweaking my xorg.conf to speed up xcompmgr on my Intel GPU. Your final solution works a treat for me too. :D

You cannot install rtorrent from a package, it needs to be compiled with xmlrpc-c support. Here is a guide, it was written for Debian but has a package list for Ubuntu (the rest is nigh on...

[ubuntu] Re: problems whit ubuntu eee on my 901

I have the same PC as the OP, mine just has a larger screen and a different SSD. I can confirm that Compiz works just fine, a testament to Compiz itself. However, mine runs Debian.

    [ubuntu] Re: SSH key authentication

I would imagine that is to allow you to log in with the public key (id_rsa.pub). Which is why is just denied you after you disabled it, no permitted login methods?

[ubuntu] Re: problems whit ubuntu eee on my 901

The logical answer would be that you don't have compiz.

I forget all the packages, but try this in the terminal:

    sudo apt-get install compiz compizconfig-settings-manager

    Compiz has some...

    [ubuntu] Re: SSH key authentication

May I suggest you start again with the key making process. Create the key on the server, do the 'cat' part, etc. And copy the key to the client. It shouldn't take long.

[ubuntu] Re: uninstall ubuntu from a dual windows os

[ubuntu] Re: triple boot xp vista ubuntu

As far as I know, which isn't very far, no. It goes like this:

    MBR → GRUB → NTLDR → Windows.

GRUB can't load Windows, only forward the computer to NTLDR.

    EDIT: Beaten.

[ubuntu] Re: add hard disk - what format
