Does this only happen when running onBoard
https://help.launchpad.net/PPAQuickStart
Well done on those docs
Add the below to your /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/onboard/ubuntu feisty main restricted universe multiverse
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/onboard/ubuntu feisty...
This would be a trivial feature to add, I don't know how much demand there is for it though. I don't want to clutter the settings dialog too much.
It probably would be worth making onboard start...
There's a new version in feisty, hope it fixes your problem.
I can't really fix the seg fault without more information.
Try removing the .sok directory in your home directory.
I can't repeat the seg faults but when selecting the Russian keyboard layout I do get blank keys.
I'm working at getting the keyboard layouts using the same system as the graphic that is displayed...
I think the problem might be that you overwrote some of the .svg files in the /usr/share/onboard/layouts directory. Try changing the file names of the ones you download so they don't conflict with...
OK this seems to work, it's a quick hack using some code I left in to do something else then forgot about.
Add this after line 100 in /usr/share/onboard/sok.py
...
You might find a lot of subtle errors when using xkbd because of the way gtk works.
Have you tried onboard? It's installed by default on edgy. Start it by clicking...
Yes this does work. Add
fi
exec onboard
at the end of /etc/gdm/Init/Default. Then you must set the login window style to plain in the login window preferences dialog.
I'll ask on the...
Not sure i'll have to ask about the policy. You can bodge the fix yourself:
Press alt-f2 and type gksu gedit
Open the file /usr/share/onboard/sok.py and go to line 83.
Change the line from ...
It was looking in the wrong place for the icon. I'm to late to get the fix into edgy now though.
You can resize onboard out of ratio to the svg file. I could try and find out the size of the key but I think all the labels being different sizes would look odd.
Chris
Your right, it's not working here either
The number is multiplied with a number worked out by looking at the keyboards width and height to get the actual font. So a bigger font number will make the font bigger in all cases.

I've seen this one before, and I think this ones a gnome bug. Sometimes the settings deamon sometimes ignores this gconf key:
/desktop/gnome/peripherals/mouse/left_handed
run gconf-editor and...
It's not necessary to have a keysym for each modifier-state. The keysym (in this case but not always) represents a physical key and not a character.
I'm not sure about the same id across panes,...
It looks quite odd to the eye having different size fonts for different keys.
Also i'm not sure if there is a way to get the size of each label from cairo (the graphics library i'm using).
...
I think I know where the problem is, i'll look at fixing it this weekend.
Very strange I have absolutely no idea about this one.
I shall try and reproduce when I get a second (which have been in quite short supply lately).
This feature is only available on edgy at the moment as it needs the new version of GTK.
The problem is when onboard tries to get your keyboard layout from the xserver. NX runs the xserver in an odd way in order to work. A possible work around would be to run onboard on the machine...
Could you run onboard from a terminal and paste the output into this forum
click applications/accessories/terminal and type onboard
thanks
I've found another work around to the problem so now modifiers do work in the way you expect in the newest version of onboard. Hopefully this will get in edgy.
