  1. Re: Need a cheap ubuntu supported wireless card? (UK)

A PCI card is a hell of a lot times faster at transferring/processing data, but your connection is only giving your 30Mbps on a good connection, you say, thus, the difference is negligible.

    If a...

    Re: Hosting Advice?

All I can add is that your old host probably used phpmyadmin

    So if you run

    "apt-get install phpmyadmin"

You can access it via http://localhost/phpmyadmin if you're on your server
    or...

Re: Reccomend me a $20 or Under Keyboard

I'm not the OP, but both those layouts looks aweful! can't imagine reaching so far for a backslash! In the UK they're right next to the z key, very convenient for the second finger from the left. :)...

Re: Reccomend me a $20 or Under Keyboard

Asda sell keyboards for £6 here in England, which is baout 13 USD, just go there and pick up a cheap one, they're USB and quite good, they sound like a typewriter though.

    Re: considering forking filezilla

If you're refusing to use Filezilla because of this, then i'd question your state of mind. You've either left your computer open to the world, or you're imcompetent with it and don't know what you're...

    Re: considering forking filezilla

Whilst I can understand not wanting your passwords stored in plain text, I can't help but wonder why would you go to the effort to persue this over a minor problem?

    There's (probably) hundreds of...

    Re: Shockwave Flash crashing

There is a work-around for the blue-tinted videos that cause the flash player to crash, maybe you've used that?

If you haven't heard of the blue tint problem that make all videos look like smurfs,...
  9. Re: Anyone else can't leave well enough alone?

I don't understand why if you have Debian XFCE4 running `great` as you say; that you would feel the need to try bloated Xubuntu?

Obviously Xubuntu's slower, it doesn't make much sense.

    I run...

I can't imagine a Windows 7 installer being more simple than it is at the moment. It's incredibly simple. I think you're confused?

Re: What is your view on flash

Being on a Linux forum, I really doubt you have never visited youtube.

If you have never visited it, then you really have missed a _lot_.

Infact, even checking the news require flash nowadays....

Re: What is your view on flash

As far as I know, the iPhone and iPad do not support flash, so trying it would be useless. We have no knowledgeable facts of your opinion.

Re: What is your view on flash

While Flash is good for it's online games and stuff, for videos and audio, HTML5 succeeds, so much more.

    Re: .NET dead or alive?

Re: Developers: KDE light is coming

If it was designed by KDE, i'd be interested, there's too many forks out there, it's stupid, non-productive and annoying, not including the life-time guarantee of such prjoect. IMO.

    Re: New Gnome 2 fork

    I'd much rather go with XFCE than a fork, especially a new one in the field;

XFCE is very similar to Gnome 2, yet, more lightweight, faster and cleaner.

In my opinion, Gnome 2 doesn't need a...
