  1. [ubuntu] Re: Wireless Suddenly Not Working, No Apparent Cause

I'm probably going to do a fresh install. It's irritating that it'll take that to solve just one problem but it seems to be the only solution. If anyone could possibly provide a solution within the...
  2. [ubuntu] Re: Wireless Suddenly Not Working, No Apparent Cause

The first command seems to run through just fine, however 'sudo modprobe wl' produces this error:

    FATAL: Module wl not found.
FATAL: Error running install command for wl

[ubuntu] Re: Compiz Possibly Quitting Regularly

I've been using xorg edgers drivers for about a month now but the problem started way before even finding out about them.

    [ubuntu] Compiz Possibly Quitting Regularly

Sorry for the odd wording of the title, I'm not sure how else to word this.

For a while now everything on screen has suddenly froze, disappeared, and returned. Except when returned, the Dash...

  8. [ubuntu] Wireless Suddenly Not Working, No Apparent Cause

this morning I turned on my laptop and booted into Ubuntu. Everything went as usual except for some reason the wireless didn't start. This has been the case all day. It isn't that it can't find any...
  9. [ubuntu] Re: Repeated Error Warnings Since 12.04 Install

My latest updates came a few hours ago and it's continued to persist:( Is there anything you done at all (other than updates) that you think could have contributed to it stopping?
  10. [ubuntu] Re: Repeated Error Warnings Since 12.04 Install

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately neither command yielded any result. The first just seemed to alert me that I don't have some GTK2 engines installed.
  11. [ubuntu] Re: Repeated Error Warnings Since 12.04 Install

Nah, I can guarantee this is the final release version.
  12. [ubuntu] Repeated Error Warnings Since 12.04 Install

Ever since performing a fresh install of 12.04, I've been harassed by error messages telling me that a system problem has been detected. When I attempt to send a bug report, it tends to repeat it...

[ubuntu] ID3 Tags Not Present from CD

I've got quite a lot of CDs that I'd like to import to Ubuntu but it's not work the hassle because for some reason Banshee doesn't seem to recognise the ID3 tags. Everything just appears as unknown...
  15. [ubuntu] Re: Skip Grub Menu and Reduce Touchpad Sensitivity

When I open 'sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst' I just get a blank text file, so this doesn't really help.

  17. [ubuntu] Skip Grub Menu and Reduce Touchpad Sensitivity

No Mic Boost and Buggy Mouse in 10.10

This thread covers two issues so I don't need to monitor two threads, which is something I really don't need right now.

My first problem is that my mouse seems to have a mind of it's own, as...
  19. [ubuntu] Re: Problems with iSight webcam on 10.04 Lucid (MBP 5,3)

I should now mention that yet again, iSight seems to be working. Very, very strange. Hopefully it'll not have any problems by 10.10's full release.
  20. [ubuntu] Re: Problems with iSight webcam on 10.04 Lucid (MBP 5,3)

You can always download the firmware. just google it. I'd help you out but for legal reasons you can't really post things like that.

  22. [ubuntu] Re: Problems with iSight webcam on 10.04 Lucid (MBP 5,3)

I honestly couldn't bring myself to do that. The fact that I already have a perfectly good one built-in would drive me insane and I'd spend ages trying to fix it, or just not have the feature:P But...
  23. [ubuntu] Re: Problems with iSight webcam on 10.04 Lucid (MBP 5,3)

Sorry to hear that was of no help. And yeah, fresh install.
  24. [ubuntu] Re: Problems with iSight webcam on 10.04 Lucid (MBP 5,3)

Well I'm running a 5.3 Macbook Pro, so I can't say it'll work for sure. But if you have little to loose, I'd definitely give it a try. About the Line-in; I wasn't able to record either until I...
  25. [ubuntu] Re: Problems with iSight webcam on 10.04 Lucid (MBP 5,3)

I should probably point out that my iSight seems to work out of the box perfectly well after doing a fresh install of the Maverick RC.
