[ubuntu] Re: Will 11.10 have Unity or Gnome 3

Oh thank god. Unity and I just don't get along. The only reason I switched from Ubuntu early this summer was because I wanted to try Gnome 3. It's pretty nice, but I like something that's more...

[ubuntu] Will 11.10 have Unity or Gnome 3

Will 11.10 have Unity or Gnome 3 or something else?

Just a simple question. Right now I'm running 11.04 but I don't use unity I use gnome classic. I've used Gnome3 in a Fedora installment before I...
  4. [ubuntu] Re: Making complete backup of Ubuntu 10.10 installation.

Okay, but why? I'm just curious.
  5. [ubuntu] Re: Making complete backup of Ubuntu 10.10 installation.

I will just try all 3. Mine as well be on the safe side. But I'll also copy some files onto another medium.

Thanks for the quick, and detailed response(s)!
  6. [ubuntu] Making complete backup of Ubuntu 10.10 installation.

Okay, so I have a screwy hard drive and reports are showing that it's failing. Is there a program or something that will make .iso file of all my files on the Ubuntu partition, or is my best bet just...

    [ubuntu] Re: W inside Ubuntu

Yes, it is because the .iso is mounted virtually. I beleive their is a way to unmount at the top, but I haven't used VB in a while and I don't have it anymore

    [ubuntu] Re: W inside Ubuntu

It is a pretty simple process. Once you get Virtual Box, you make the virtual hard drive, then you boot it with the CD of XP in your tray or whatever and install it like you would a real computer.

[ubuntu] Re: I can not run a code in CodeLite, please help

I'm not sure if this will work in the IDE your using, but it worked in Code::Blocks. You need g++ to get this,
    sudo apt-get install g++

That might work. If not I might know something else, but...
  17. [ubuntu] Re: No wireless connections! Please help! (other forums don't make sense)

Could you please post the output of
sudo lspci? That would help us identify your wireless card.
