Re: Do you use compiz fusion?

Huge fan of it. After using tons of OSX machines over the past year I need it for scale (or what OSX calls Expose): I can never go back to a taskbar.

Also the wobbly windows is wonderfully...

    Re: Macbook vs Vaio

I have a first gen Macbook and I love it. It runs Ubuntu like a charm, an d is really slick looking. My only problem with it is the small screen, which is why I bought a 15" Lenovo for half the price...

    [other] Re: mac-style maximize

There is no window manager I know of in the free software community that I know of that replicates this. But I don't see why it could not be a compiz pluggin.

I would get on the GTK list and ask...

Re: 5 reasons to avoid iPhone 3G

Agreed. I would never compare my iPhone to a Blackberry or something. The scheduler kinda sucks, and it does not have many productivity tools.

Really for me its a phone with the world's best...

Re: 5 reasons to avoid iPhone 3G

I have a first gen iPhone (was a gift) and I love it. On no other phone can you get such a slick interface. Plus it is the only phone that browsing the web on it didn't make me want to quit after a...
  8. Re: Foxconn deliberately sabotaging their BIOS to destroy Linux ACPI

Well, no more Foxconn for me. That is disappointing as they were one of my favorite brands to recommend. Gigabyte or bust from now on I guess...

Re: Why PC has only one mouse?

To pull off this trick requires very large changes in Xorg. I hope its ready to go within a year.
  10. Re: Launchpad Source-Code Within 12 Months

Re: Why PC has only one mouse?

This exact thing (called The Multi-Pointer X Server or MPX for short) has been a big recent development in the Xorg community.

Poll: Re: Do you llie a little bloat/

I like bloat. It has some upsides. Thanks to software bloat my current computer is 100,000 more powerful than my first.

Plus bloat makes me work harder, and that is good sometimes. Firefox 2 made...

Poll: Re: What web browser do you use?

  18. [ubuntu] Re: Unplugged USB flash mem without unmounting

  24. [ubuntu] Re: upgrade and repartitioning: how best to do it?
