  1. Re: Can't run native Linux applications in XP, PLEASE HELP.

    :lolflag:

I have some IBM 360 programs on binary cards I cannot get to run on Windows or Linux

Obviously, both operating systems (insert insulting descriptive term of the day)
  2. [other] Re: Need to assess hard drive health.

If your drive is S.M.A.R.T compatible

    The following are some...

  4. Re: CPU temp jumps instantly when loaded

My Core 2 will go from 34c to 54c in ten seconds if I start a graphic
    intensive game in Wine.

The first time that happened, I took the heat sink off to make
sure I had not forgotten to put heat...

[ubuntu] Re: My computer has gone crazy!

Well according to my spare brain “Google”
Maxtor 6Y060L0 and 6E030L0 both support SMART.

On some machines it has to be enabled in the BIOS.

Check your BIOS configuration and see if the option...

[ubuntu] Re: My computer has gone crazy!

The computer in the video has a 60 gig and a 30 gig Diamond Max hard drive.
I think both are S.M.A.R.T. capable.

    Install smart monitor tools

    apt-get install smartmontools

  10. Poll: Re: Windows Eee PC Will Outsell Linux Version, Says Asus

When a desktop PC cost several thousand dollars and Windows was about $95,

  11. Re: Is it just me? - I don't want ubuntu to look like Vista or an iMac.

If I booted a live CD and it looked like Windows,
I would shoot it with a silver bullet,

perform an exorcism, burn the CD,
and scatter the ashes on four...
