    GNU tried (and is still trying) to develop a kernel (GNU HURD) but the code still isnt stable/usable after all this time so instead they decided to hijack linux.

    Not long though until mp3 enters public domain.On a side note, dell now ships ubuntu with codecs.

    Theres three diffrent "channels":

    Unstable (dev) - More than likely has bugs but its cutting edge
    Beta - Bit more stable, still contains some bugs.
    Stable - There hasnt been a stable release...
