I think upstart is the reason for the lack of slowdown. It might be running checks with the /user-dirs.dirs method....

Same problem here chromos, someone made a gdeb package too, but I have yet to find it, it's x86-64.

This noticeably slowed down the boot process (25 s vs 14 s). Aren't umask=000 and defaults (exec) a repeat? Or were my original nodev,nosuid the reason for the problematic mounts?
