Its a Gateway Essential 500, built 2/10/00, and it came out of the box with:

-Pentium III 500mhz (Katmai)
-64mb Ram
-10 gig...

The Starling netbook disappeared from the website, and so did the Sable Performance....

Any idea whats coming?

Doesnt Intel have a dual core Atom slated for nettop usage specifically....it would be cool to see it put in the meerkat, with maybe some type of Nvidia chipset/IGP combo.

Looks like you did a fairly good job of spec'ing it out.

I personally like the 1st ubuntu flip with the logo in the corner.

The 2nd one looks like it would come from the ubuntu store...just merchandise with an ubuntu logo slapped on.

Ever since upgrading to Ibex, I've been unable to successfully burn cds, or DVDs.

The disc will act like its burning regularly, and say it completes 100%, but reinserting the disc, I get the Blank...

Im not sure who we need to get in contact with...

I've got a Logitech Quickcam Deluxe for notebooks and it doesnt play nice with 8.10, but worked fine in 8.04.

I'm going to guess that there'll be a period of time for testing once the final version comes out in 25 days.

I think you guys are being to rought on it...i mean cmon look at the bright side:

1) Its only 40 inches thick....

2) It only weighs 8.5 pounds

3) It gets an amazing 2.5 hours (I say less...
