I managed to get my bamboo touch working on Lucid (no gestures but everything else checks out)
I posted it here:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9119518&postcount=782
In lucid, I got the pen (fully working) and touch (with no gestures) working by doing the following:
Download the git version of 10.5 and compile:
git clone...
For me 0.8.5-10 is a bit of a regression wrt touch. My experiences are similar to nossifer's with touch becoming unusable. I guess not all the changes were implemented or they clash with other parts...
The drivers install over the top of the current files. I did this:
wget -N http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/linuxwacom/linuxwacom-dev/0.8.5-9/linuxwacom-0.8.5-9.tar.bz2
tar -xvjf...
Sorry I haven't had time to test the patch till now.
It certainly is the best yet, great work Ob1.
The buttons seem to be performing correctly mapped, movement works much better (although it...
Yeah this is windows XP configuration and linux.
So it would seem that somewhere the mapping has got mixed up. Like bromolex I can change the other keys except for ? using wacomcpl. But there is no...
So I tried the pad for the first time on a windows XP machine and I noticed that the buttons on CTH-460 are not really mapped correctly at all (I am right handed so didn't change anything). The Top...
Thanks Obi and Fav. The stylus no working pretty well much glitch free.
The touch is also much better it took me 30 minutes to crash X.
It wants to jump to the left bottom corner and after a...
Sorry for such a dumb question but I cannot seem to patch the wacom linux code. It just hangs there. I have tried:
~/Downloads/linuxwacom-0.8.5-9$ patch --verbose -p1 wcm_patch-0.8.5-9-1.patch.txt ...
Many thanks! I'll just switch back to the method in the first post until 0.8.5-10.
After reading through some of the posts it looks like the same bugs have been reported. One question I did have was do I also need to compile the new xf86-input-wacom 0.10.3?
I tried the new Driver today (0.8.5-9). The touch and stylus are recognised using xsetwacom list.
The touch has started to move the mouse around but it behaves like the left mouse button is always...
OK thanks a lot Favux and Ayuthia, this is a very rapid moving post.
This explains a lot, any ideas if any of Ayuthia patches can be applied to the new code or should I go back to the previous...
Sorry this is gonna have to wait till tomorrow as I am away from my work machine just now. I am checking the hdd for duplicate wacom stuff just now but cannot test the bamboo till 8AM JST.
Do you mean:
sudo apt-get install wacom-tools xserver-xorg-input-wacom
sudo apt-get purge wacom-tools xserver-xorg-input-wacom
If so I did this prior to:
sudo make install
OK here are the Xorg data.
I redid the step and then reloaded the wacom module still no joy.
Here are the outputs from dmesg:
sudo modprobe -r wacom
[ 2804.453781] usbcore: deregistering interface driver wacom
sudo...
Well I tried the fdi with the compile, rc2 and 3.5 but still my Bamboo CTH-460 touch and pen do not work with 0.8.5-8. Do I need to use the 60-wacom.rules? Using the patched version and the method in...
I tried Linuxwacom 0.8.5-8 (hopefully) following your instructions. The device is recognised but there is no response from buttons, touch or pen.
Here is the output from my dmesg:
[ ...
I followed post 1 and got my bamboo pen working almost glitch free. However I bought the model specifically for the touch function (bad wrists) and this is very erratic for me. For example when I try...
Thanks this worked like a treat. Wonder why it stopped working after yesterdays's updates?
You can change the cursor theme using gconf-editor under:
/apps/compiz/general/allscreens/options/cursor_theme
Change the key to your current theme and Bob's your mother's brother.
Also you may want to check to see if the firmware is up-to-date.
