I recently stumbled upon this site: http://www.infinality.net/

I was surprised that there wasn't a PPA already available, so I did it myself.

    Avoid at all costs. Seriously.

My g73jh has been constantly freezing with vertical bars (the GSOD issue) in both windows 7 and ubuntu. It even occurs just watching videos.

Re: Wine can't find Warcraft 3 disc

    Run in opengl.

    wine war3.exe -opengl

I'd recommend using a patched wine as well.
It'll fix the focus loss bug, inability to host, and missing chat issues.

  12. Re: Pulseaudio and Wine really don't want to play

Wine doesn't work through pulseaudio until I do:

    sudo alsa force-reload

I have to do that every reboot.
  13. Re: Warcraft III - Any body else getting memory errors with the new 1.23 patch?

This git repo fixes the crashing: http://repo.or.cz/w/wine/warcraft3.git

    From: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=17809#c27

You still need the focus patch though.

Sounds like Warcraft III. I'm getting the same problem.
  15. Flash extremely choppy/slow on 64 bit

Anyone else seeing extremely choppy playback for flash?
It's easy to see this on HD videos from gametrailers.

Sorry it's /usr/share/notify_osd/icons/notification-volume.svg. I also fixed my post.
  17. Poll: Re: What on earth were the "Desktop Experience" team thinking?

Yeah. There are no graphics because it can't find the icons.
  18. Poll: Re: What on earth were the "Desktop Experience" team thinking?

It seems notify-osd looks for the icons in your current icon theme.

Right now it doesn't actually switch between different icons depending on current brightness/volume level, but I'd rather have...
  19. Poll: Re: What on earth were the "Desktop Experience" team thinking?

Brightness is still using the old indicator.

You can also test using notify-send.

    Also works fine without compositing.
  20. Poll: Re: What on earth were the "Desktop Experience" team thinking?

Try changing the volume via keyboard shortcut. I think it's a good change.
