Well i was working on maya when suddenly my keyboard and mouse stopped responding so i had to press the system reset button. After that i recovered my system using fsck.

i tried installing libssl.0.9.8

sudo apt-get install libssl0.9.8

and by sudo apt-get install libssl-dev

but i still dont see libssl.so.0.9.8 in usr/lib directory...

I am on ububti x64...

well, yesterday i did tried apt-cache search ia32-libs and found ia32-libs-multiarch in the list,

however when i tried dpkg -L ia32-libs-multiarch i get message saying

get error saying command not found when i try to run gparted ? I also checked in the software center and it says remove which means its already installed ...but don't know why i get this message ...?

i just installed sudo apt-get install ia32-libs

since I am on 64 bit mahine and i downloaded 32bit libs but i do not know its location where it got installed .. how to get the location of those...

i have made an alias in .bashrc chmods with directory as
d=$(pwd);
alias chmods='find "$d" -exec chmod 755 {} \;'

but if it try to run from terminal with sudo i get error saying

i made a directory nreal inside usr directory and applied 755 permission to all the folder and files inside it, and even set the path to run apple shake

PATH=$PATH:/usr/nreal/shake-v4.10.0606/bin...

well since I am a beginner today I learnt how to change permission recursively of files and folder in a directory

using 'find foldername -exec chmod 788 {} \;'

what i want to know how can i set...

i tried it again in the search now i cant even get Gnomoe in the list that says desktop enironment with extra components .
