  1. Re: Text editor with transparent background/not transparent font?

    Going once...going twice...
  2. Re: Text editor with transparent background/not transparent font?

Yeah that's what everyone tells me. Wish I had the skills to do it myself. Must be difficult for some reason.
  3. Re: Text editor with transparent background/not transparent font?

A way to do this with the LibreOffice writer or FocusWriter would also work. FocusWriter can do a transparent text field over one static image, which is almost there.

    Strange that something so...
  4. Re: Text editor with transparent background/not transparent font?

Thanks, is it possible to just edit and save plain text in VIM without a command line? Simple is what I need.
  5. Text editor with transparent background/not transparent font?

Apologies if this is posted to the wrong stem.

Subject pretty self explanatory -- is there one? This works in Nano but I want something like Gedit that I can write in. I use gedit as a light word...

    Re: weird, blocky ProRes

Thanks that goes a long way toward explaining it.
It's funny because kdenlive allows you to "point" it to a particular ffmpeg and ffplay, but that doesn't make a difference.
    I don't know how to...

    Re: weird, blocky ProRes

I wasn't using the "static" one I mentioned (for encoding). I had downloaded it and didn't see an ffplay. I re-compiled ffmpeg as per their instructions at...

    Re: weird, blocky ProRes

How do I make it work?

I downloaded a "static build" of ffmpeg from ffmpeg, but I don't know how to get a different version of ffplay than the one in the build -- I don't understand what you mean...
  9. [ubuntu] Re: Canon CR2 raw images opened with a pink tint Precise

I'm having the same problem, intermittently, and strangely only in the past couple days.

    Re: weird, blocky ProRes

Thanks for that. Are you on ubuntu 12.10?

Does this point to my ffplay? Anyone know?

    Re: weird, blocky ProRes

Video file looks like the picture, above, on Ubuntu.

It's stored here, but will not download, presumably because of the encoding problem.
  12. [ubuntu] Re: Canon CR2 raw images opened with a pink tint Precise

If you save those images as .dng or .tiff, close and open again, so you see that still?

    Re: weird, blocky ProRes

Thanks for the response. Yes I encoded them with ffmpeg like this:

    ffmpeg -r 23.98 -i %06d.tif -vcodec prores btif.mov

if I encode the same thing with ffmbc it comes out fine:

    ffmbc...

    Re: weird, blocky ProRes

I took the file over to a Windows XP machine and it plays fine in Quicktime there. The problem resides somewhere in my Ubuntu setup, I think, for playback.

    weird, blocky ProRes

    Hi All,
I am trying to edit video with ProRes encoding. I am running 12.10. The encoding works and I can see video files encoded with prores, but it looks all blocky (please see picture).

    Can...
