Part 2 of the instructions by Videonauth contained in that link were the ticket. :)
Any help would be appreciated.
I have been attempting to use ubuntu-drivers autoinstall, and this is what I see:
Need to get 0 B/86.3 MB of archives.
After this operation, 298 MB of...
Just now upgrading a Mailman server to Precise, and this thread bailed me out.
Many Thanks!
Well, I did the upgrade, and it did not fix things.
However, installing the kubuntu-desktop meta-package did. :)
I should have thought of that early on.
I have a habit of getting rid of a...
buckyaustin,
Interesting, I had never heard of that.
I'm not sure what happened, but I suspect strongly that an update broke things.
I have network going again, and though this is probably a...
I am experiencing some kind of similar problem, as of today, in 12.04. The only difference is that a black screen comes up, after entering my password in KDM.
I do get a pointer in the middle of...
Reporting back again...
I just upgraded to the 3.5.0 kernel (from the xorg-edgers PPA), and although the problem has not completely disappeared, I'm experiencing MARKEDLY reduced packet loss.
...
I just spent some time in Windows 7, and pinged my router numerous times, doing 50 pings at a time, and experienced no packet loss at all. This influences me even more to believe that there is...
I am also experiencing terrible problems with an rt3060-based device, using the rt2800pci driver.
However, in my case it has nothing to do with heavy load. I am experiencing constant packet loss...
I am also getting no sound out of Amarok, and am experiencing a number of other problems with it, as well.
In looking into this, I did go ahead an grab Amarok 2.6 from the backports PPA, but all...
LeeJunFan's solution in post #10 worked for me!
Thanks!
It would be great to find a solution to this problem.
Oddly, I upgraded a half-dozen 64-bit desktops to Precise, but this problem was only encountered on one of those machines.
sudodus,
Yes, you do clearly understand!
If things are working well for you, I would not want to tell you to do anything differently.
However, after upgrading to 12.04, I was not able to...
I don't think this has anything to with your Desktop Environment.
I also ran into this problem on every machine I have with NVIDIA graphics, including a Core 2 Quad desktop.
The only solution I...
I have not seen any improvement in this. I am trying to download KDE SC 4.8.3 from the Kubuntu PPA, and averaging 15kB/s down. This is on a GB network.
Apt is estimating the download to take...
I just wanted to interject that I built a machine using the Intel BOXD525MW motherboard/CPU a year or so ago.
It's a great little board, and has worked flawlessly for me.
It would appear that libjson0-dev is now also required in order for pianobar to properly compile.
I'll just edit my above post, to add this package to the instructions.
I just added this PPA, but dist-upgrade does not do anything.
Is the patch only available to people still using KDE 4.7?
(I'm using Oneiric.)
It would be great to find a fix for this.
Even running 'razor-session' from the command line is not working here.
I am beginning to wonder if this problem will ever go away.
KDE is increasingly seeming (to me, at least) like a DE that is less than half-baked (and perpetually so).
Since the most recent changes made by Pandora, the changes that then had to be made to pianobar now require that also libgnutls-dev be installed for pianobar to compile correctly.
Here again are...
Sort of uncool that no one else got involved in this thread to help you out.
Also sort of equally uncool that you marked it as solved, without mentioning how you solved it.
If you ever get a...
I just installed KDE SC 4.7.1 from the Kubuntu Backports PPA, with the not-too-high hopes that bugs like this one might have been fixed.
At least for me, this problem is as bad as ever.
I'd be...
Since upgrading to 11.04 several months ago, Yakuake has seemingly ceased saving to .bash_history. (Konsole, however, saves to .bash_history as normal.)
Has anyone else noticed this?
Would...
