  1. [other] Forum search for gnome-settings-daemon fails

I tried searching this forum for "gnome-settings-daemon crash", and got an unhelpful response that "gnome-settings-daemon" is too common and not included in the search (as if crash is not common).

    [ubuntu] Re: Samsung series 9

The WLAN was working previously, though it is a bit slow to connect after a suspend. However, after I "upgraded" from 802.11g to 802.11n, my machine stopped being able to connect to the WLAN.

    So,...

SAMSUNG_REC is a recovery partition. I don't know exactly what it recovers, but probably it's just basic Windows and Samsung apps and I don't see why I would want to waste 20GB out of 128GB for this...

I have a similar problem. My machine locks up, too. However, when mine locks up, even the mouse cursor is unresponsive.

I shared my partition layout on the first page of this thread. If you need to install more Windows apps, then make the Windows partition larger.

Using the official ISO on a bootable USB connected to the RIGHT USB port, I had no problem installing Natty. Running was mostly fine, with the following minor problems:

[ubuntu] Re: Ubuntu on new Samsung 9 Series?

I have a new 900X3A, and attempted to install Natty Beta 2 from a bootable USB flash drive with the live image. It didn't work. I had the following three problems:
    1. It seems that you have to boot...
  9. [ubuntu] Re: fglrx Jaunty dual-head config can't suspend properly

I would like to add that the same mess-up with the display cloning happens when I switch off one of the monitors and then switch it back on. Seems like somebody is detecting when a monitor becomes...
  10. [ubuntu] fglrx Jaunty dual-head config can't suspend properly

    Hi,

I have a Radeon HD 4670 with two 1680x1050 LCD monitors running Jaunty 9.04 with fglrx. The dual-head setup seems to work for the most part, with each monitor displaying its own left or right...
