When i did it i noticed that the true command was
./X11/configure
But now i am stopped at make command i get
make: *** No rule to make target `remotepad.o', needed by `remotepad'. Stop.

Thanks for the site the thought.... when i do a proper partition i will use it. Yea wubi is why i posted on the wubi part of the forum , still i should have been more clear about my setup.

This will work even for wubi? Seems this is for like if you have a partitioned harddrive, wubi is just inside windows.

Ok i created the ubuntu\disks folder and added the three (boot/grub/menu.lst boot/vmlinuz boot/initrd.gz) files. I found a 'swap.disk' but thats all i found in 'found.000'
on the live disk there...
