[ubuntu] Re: Installation just won't work....

Whatever the case, it sounds as though you may have errors on the hard drive or not enough space maybe.

Try running chkdsk on the hard drive to correct any errors before trying to install Ubuntu....

[ubuntu] Re: BIOS - compromised by viruses

Most people replying in this thread seem to reject the notion of a BIOS virus.

This has all been methodically ruled out. :KS

This is DEFINITELY NOT related to a hard drive issue.

  17. [ubuntu] Re: Re-installing A Windows OS in a dualboot environment

    Yes,
    you can do this.

However, in my experience, people place far too much faith in virus scanners.

They are mostly effective against viruses that have been out for at least a month or more...
  18. [ubuntu] Re: Re-installing A Windows OS in a dualboot environment

  19. [ubuntu] Re: Re-installing A Windows OS in a dualboot environment

    [ubuntu] gedit

Up until I started using 9.04, I used gedit extensively.

Never had a moment's trouble with it.

Now, it seems to be getting worse and worse.
  25. [SOLVED] Re: Change 10.04 login screen back to 9.04 theme

    Final word.....
