Wifi in my A52 slows down dramatically after disconnecting AC cable.
I found that this issue is related to power mgmt. I guess it does too agressive power saving.
After turning pwr mgmt off the...
My upgrade to natty has just finished. Reboot with ac cable disconnected works fine for me. Did you do fresh install or made upgrade?
Confirmed.
Here is what I did. Steps 1 and 2 are necessary to revert the patched module
Remove custom options for snd-hda-intel module
Edit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf or...
Patch for 2.6.35-28 is attached
I don't know. I hope that upgrade to 11.04 will solve this sound problem.
You need to patch the kernel module /lib/modules/2.6.35-27-generic/kernel/sound/pci/hda/snd-hda-codec-conexant.ko with a file from the attached archive. (Read instructions from the 1st post for more...
Yeah, I can confirm this. I'll try to recompile the module for this kernel version soon.
Edit:
Patch for kernel 2.6.35-25 is attached (x86_64 only!!!)
@jsevi83: Please update the first post

Yes, you should not mix up solutions. Either use mode=hp-laptop + patched module or hda-verbs with these additional files. These solutions are mutually exclusive.
How to apply the patch - simple but time consuming way:
1. Download appropriate kernel source
2. Unpack it
3. Overwrite patch_conexant.c
4. Build the kernel
5. Overwrite your...
I respect your choice, but why don't you want to use the power of the CPU you've already paid for?
Maybe this benchmarks (although a bit outdated) will convince you :)
@all_32bit_users: Just out of curiosity, ppl, why don't you go with 64bit system and make your live easier?
(Sorry for this off-topic, but I couldn't resist)
Read post #64 in this thread
Have you tried to make diagnostic checks I suggested in post #159?
Alright, I agree with your arguments. (Patch for x86_64 only!)
Apply patch on your own or wait until someone else does it or move to 64bit
I've installed kernel 2.6.36rc8 64-bit (from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.36-rc8-maverick/) and the soundcard behaves exactly as with kernel 2.6.35.5. The kernel must be patched...
Don't you use 32-bit kernel, do you? Please note that patched module from the post #128 works only with 64-bit kernel.
@jsevi83: Can you please update the first post with this info?
For 32bit system:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v2.6.35.7-maverick/linux-image-2.6.35-02063507-generic_2.6.35-02063507.201009290909_i386.deb...
Which kernel version are you using? (uname -a)
Maverick wiki says: "Beta includes the 2.6.35-19.28 kernel which is based on the 2.6.35.3 upstream stable kernel." So the short answer is no.
My patch can be applied only to the version 2.6.35.5...
New kernel version 2.6.35.5 has been released yesterday. It includes the following patch for hda conexant codec. In just few words it introduces new model hp-laptop which seems to be almost what we...
Sure, it works more or less as you described under kernel 2.6.34 with conexant driver installed. I was talking about mainline kernel 2.6.35.4 without conexant driver (as this version of the kernel is...
As far as I can see, no. To re-enable IntMic you have execute the script /etc/init.d/hd-conexant (either suspend/resume or reboot, but I guess that's not what you expect)
> The internal microphone is not working. Any ideas?
Yes, but it's a bit complicated because it requires to use hda verbs.
All steps should be done with root privileges.
1. Create file...
I've just upgraded my kernel to the version 2.6.35-02063504-generic (from kernel mainline).
Sadly there is no linuxant alsa driver available for this kernel version and my headphone output didn't...
