did all steps..and alas "No sensors detected"
I am on a Toshiba Satellite A-65 Notebook.
Giving up on the project, but some other Toshiba users might find the info useful.

my problem is driving me nuts...I have everything installed that the forums suggest, however when I type compiz start,I get this

xvinfo: Unable to open display...
umm....no go. Here is my shell output.
