Re: Top 1/4 of screen randomly fills screen

Figured this out - this can be solved by restarting the x-server (ctrl-shift-backspace on my computer)
  4. Cannot install llvmlite - nonexistent libraries?

When I try to do sudo pip install llvmlite, I come up with the errors

    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ledit
    /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lLLVMOProfileJIT

    I have llvm-3.7 installed on Ubuntu 14.04....

Re: Top 1/4 of screen randomly fills screen

Uh oh - that's interesting. Do you have any idea what the nature of the fault might be or whether it might make my computer unusable? Rebooting solves the problem but it's fairly unpredictable when...

Re: Top 1/4 of screen randomly fills screen

Thanks for your response! It shows the expected full resolution which leads me to believe for some reason the OS thinks the screen is bigger than it is. However using fbmm doesn't seem to do anything

    Re: Symlinks in /

Part of the reason is that I want to save space on my OS partition, which is getting full. Can I keep core system files on my OS partition but move my installations (and default install location) to...

    Re: Unclean reinstall?

OK, I tried booting from a liveusb and looking at it in GParted but I only see one Ubuntu partition and one swap. Very odd. Should I delete those partitions then?

    EDIT: Windows is unaffected; I...

Re: Partitioning a hybrid hard drive

Thanks for the advice guys. After further consideration and reading the replies I decided just to go all the way, 100% SSD. Then the partition becomes a snap and it's much faster. Have a great day!
