There was a longer output but it was all blank. Just hundreds of empty lines. Only those last few lines contained any text.
A lot of blank space and:

Sorry folks, but this is a long story.:(
It all started because I'm having issues with ureadahead filling up my root partition. My root partition only had ~20MB of free space left and my system...
After examining some of the printouts that were performed on my wife's Windows machine, I noticed that text was not true black. Apparently, something in Windows tells the printer to print black text...
The installation guide doesn't seem to be there. The installer requested a bunch of dependencies and then said it couldn't connect to install them.
No, it's in a run format, which worries me for some reason.
I've been trying to revert back to the previous driver, but synaptic won't let me.
My HP 950C no longer prints text. When I try to print a text document, I get a blank page. I believe this is due to a recent update to the hplip driver, as it worked before the update.

If you can find a Pepperidge Farm store, they usually have Milano cookies that are at or near their expiration date for a lot less.
The Phoronix article is back up again. I highly recommend watching the videos.
Without the patch
With the patch
You said bone headed and CPU hungry in the same sentence and it was the first thing that came to mind.:lolflag:
Perhaps a PPA is a better option.
Well, I don't know what you did, but it should be possible to run the patch on 10.10 if you know what you are doing. However, you will have to compile the kernel from source. It'll be a real pain....
UPDATE: It looks like this will be in 11.04 Natty Narwhal!
I'm hoping for a backport for 10.04, but I'm not holding my breath.
I have my reservations about using a PPA for a kernel. Especially if it's a daily build. That would be a nightmare.
I heard 2.6.37, but I'll have to check that...
Edit: Found it!
So, we are looking at 11.10 for this update.
I managed to read it a few minutes ago. I'm excited:P
It'll probably be years before we see this in Ubuntu though. :(
Interesting...
I assume you are talking about the desktop notifications. This is done through the libnotify package. Unfortunately, aMSN doesn't appear to have a libnotify interface. You may want to check aMSN's...
There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the script. I had an old doxbox.conf file that was causing trouble. It works fine.
Thanks!
I run rkhunter on a regular basis, and lately I have been seeing warning messages that file properties have changed. Have there been any recent updates (past month) to Lucid that would cause this?

Have you used Notes on Windows? It's not very good either.
However, Notes has some unique database functions that aren't found in other programs. Unfortunately, if the OP needs these functions,...
